BBE has long provided this explanation, "BBE Sonic Maximizers provides processing for a , brightening, clarifying, and adding fullness to the sound" If you ask how does it do that? "subtly manipulating the phase and amplitude of different frequency ranges within an audio signal, essentially "re-aligning" the sound to make it sound clearer, more defined, and present.
