Kenwood JL-790 3 Way 70-120 Watt Max Speaker System - The JL-790 3 Way Speakers were recently tested by DALAUDIO and found to be in excellent working and physical condition. The grills and cabinets are in very good shape. Please see all photos. These are very efficient speakers rated at 92dB. So with moderate power they will be loud. I would recommend no more than 100 Watts even though the speaker spec sheet indicates a max power rating at 140 Watts. These JL series speakers were sold with many Kenwood mid priced "cabinet rack systems". These speakers were part of a series called "Kenwood Spectrum 690". These systems were comprised of Kenwood matched separates; CD players, Cassette Decks, Turntables Amps and Tuners, in the early 1990s. The JL790 represented the top line or largest of these systems. They were the transitional systems offering some surround capabilities but kept the older audio cassette and turntable inputs.

Sound: As expected, with a clean amp these have overall good tonality. The soundstage is large as they are efficient, if any deficiency exists overall they are relatively flat in the low end, but if you enhance the amps lowend they do come alive.
