Vintage Sansui 5000A AM/FM Receiver in Wood Case with Manuals and Box This 1970s Made in Japan unit was recently serviced by DALAUDIO. All controls, switches, selectors, and potentiometers have been cleaned and tested. All inputs and outputs have been verified. Overall this is a very clean receiver with good clean sound and an exceptional wood case. The faceplate is mint, and we seldom use that term. Inside and out this unit is clean. The model 5000A unit is bone stock, so if you want to upgrade no one else has been inside. To save you time, this unit has 1041-1 driver boards with working LV2s and 2SC680s - not the 1063s. The bias was set per the manual procedure at 23mA +- a few mA on both channels. The unit did not drift which is surprising. I would enjoy it as it currently sits; it sounds great and open with very tight bass with the speaker dampening sitch in its current location. The box, original owners, original service manual, original schematic, and other original paperwork are included in this transaction.
Final Cash Sale - No Holds - No Returns - Call or text for pick-up - We are happy to demo the unit, if you give us appropriate notice.
A bit of history on this unit: This 5000A was purchased near Wiesbaden Army Base by a US Serviceman in 1970. At the end of his service, the unit was shipped to the USA in the original boxes with all manuals and paperwork. The unit was not opened until recently. We took it out of the box this month, and the condition and completeness was apparent. Having been purchased in Europe, it displays a 220V (not 110V) sticker on the metal cover and box! These units are easily converted internally (DALAUDIO checked) with the switch module interface, as Sansui designed and manufactured the 5000A to be distributed and sold internationally to operate on multiple domestic voltage/frequencies.
Note: If Interested, DALAUDIO offers either new 1063 driver boards or original 1041-1 driver rebuilds. We do all setup, adjustments and testing. The boards run about $125/pr either way and the labor to install test and setup is about the same. In my humble opinion, it's worth listening to the unit in its original designed state, as is, unless you intend to flog the unit at loud volumes. It sounds very good, since it was seldom used, it should last a while.
